Before Service Begins

Clear Information for Golf Cart Service & Repairs

Golf cart service can range from routine maintenance and individual component work to troubleshooting a problem that requires additional diagnosis before the appropriate repair can be determined.

The work appropriate for one golf cart may not be appropriate for another. Vehicle type, model, age, condition, previous repairs, modifications, installed accessories and the reported concern can all affect the service process.

Customers should provide accurate information about the golf cart and the issue they want reviewed. Where additional work becomes necessary after service begins, the applicable work and authorization should be addressed before relying on an earlier description as the final scope of repair.

Service Information

What to Tell Woody's

Providing useful vehicle information can help the service discussion begin with a clearer understanding of the issue.

01
Golf Cart Information Provide the make, model or other relevant vehicle information when known.
02
Reported Problem Explain the symptoms or service concern as clearly as possible.
03
Previous Work Mention relevant repairs, modifications or installed accessories when known.
04
Requested Service Explain the maintenance, repair, diagnosis or installation you are requesting.
Service Journey

How a Service Request May Progress

The exact process depends on the vehicle and work involved. These stages provide a general guide rather than a guaranteed sequence for every repair.

01

Service Request

Customer explains the vehicle and requested service or reported problem.

02

Evaluation

The applicable concern may require inspection or diagnostic work.

03

Service Scope

Appropriate work, parts or additional requirements may be identified.

04

Repair / Service

Authorized work can proceed according to the applicable service arrangement.

05

Completion

The customer receives applicable information concerning the completed service.

Diagnosis Can Reveal Additional Problems

A customer's initial description of a symptom does not always identify its underlying cause. Inspection or diagnostic work may reveal additional or different issues. An initial service discussion therefore should not be interpreted as a guarantee that no additional work, parts or decisions will be required.

Service Terms Scope Vehicle Information Diagnostics Estimates Authorization Additional Work Parts Customer Parts Modified Carts Electric Carts Gas Carts Timing Service Completion Warranty Existing Condition Customer Property Payment Questions
01

Scope of Service & Repair Terms

These terms apply generally to service, diagnostic, maintenance, repair, installation and related work performed by Woody's Golf Carts where applicable to a customer transaction.

Individual service orders may include additional transaction-specific information concerning the vehicle, requested work, parts, pricing or other service requirements.

If transaction-specific information differs from a general description on this page, customers should request clarification before authorizing the applicable work.

02

Customer Vehicle Information

Customers should provide accurate information about the golf cart and known concerns that may be relevant to the requested service.

  • Make and model when known.
  • Reported symptoms or performance concerns.
  • Relevant previous repairs when known.
  • Existing modifications or aftermarket equipment.
  • Recent events connected with the reported problem.
  • Any other information reasonably relevant to the service request.

Incomplete or inaccurate information can make initial troubleshooting more difficult.

03

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

Some service requests require diagnostic work before the cause of a reported problem or the appropriate repair can be determined.

Similar symptoms can have different causes. A cart that will not operate as expected, for example, should not automatically be assumed to require one specific component based only on the symptom described by the customer.

Diagnostic findings may result in a different or broader service recommendation than the customer's initial request.

Diagnostic work identifies or narrows potential service issues; it should not be interpreted as a promise that every unrelated or future problem with the vehicle will be identified.
04

Service Estimates & Pricing

Where an estimate or pricing information is provided, it should be understood according to the scope of work and information on which it was based.

An estimate prepared before full diagnosis or disassembly may not account for an additional problem that could not reasonably be identified from the initial information.

Customers should review what work, parts or services are included in applicable pricing before authorizing service.

This policy does not establish a universal diagnostic fee, hourly labor rate, minimum service charge or fixed repair price.

05

Customer Authorization

The scope of authorized service should be clear before the applicable repair or service work proceeds.

Authorization may relate to diagnosis, repair, maintenance, parts installation, modification or another agreed service. The form of authorization can depend on the transaction and communication used for the service request.

Customers should ask questions before authorizing work if the proposed service is unclear.

06

Additional Work Discovered During Service

Service work can reveal additional conditions that were not apparent from the customer's initial description.

Where additional work outside the existing service scope is identified, the customer may need to make a further decision about that work.

Customers should keep their contact information current while a golf cart is being serviced so service-related questions can be addressed when necessary.

07

Replacement Parts & Components

Repairs may involve replacement parts or components where applicable to the authorized service.

Depending on the transaction, components may be manufacturer, replacement or aftermarket products. Customers should not assume that every replacement component is an original equipment manufacturer component unless it is specifically identified that way.

See the Parts & Accessories Policy and Product Authenticity Policy for additional information.

08

Customer-Supplied Parts

Customers should not assume that a customer-supplied part can automatically be installed as part of a service request.

Compatibility, condition, suitability, installation requirements and the service arrangement should be discussed before relying on a customer-supplied component for a repair.

The availability of service involving a customer-supplied part should be confirmed directly with Woody's for the particular transaction.

09

Modified & Customized Golf Carts

Existing modifications can affect diagnosis, compatibility and the service required for a golf cart.

Customers should disclose relevant aftermarket equipment, electrical changes, suspension modifications, accessories or other known alterations when requesting service.

Work performed on one component does not represent a certification of every existing modification on the golf cart.

See the Custom Build & Modification Policy for more information.

10

Electric Golf Cart Service

Electric golf carts can involve batteries, charging systems, electrical components, wiring, controls and other systems specific to the applicable vehicle.

Battery-related symptoms should not automatically be interpreted as proof that the battery itself is the only cause of a reported problem.

Battery age, type, condition, charging history and related electrical components may be relevant depending on the service concern.

11

Gas Golf Cart Service

Gas golf carts contain mechanical and fuel-related systems that differ from electric carts. Service requirements therefore depend on the vehicle and reported issue.

A symptom should not be treated as establishing one specific repair without appropriate evaluation of the applicable cart.

12

Service & Repair Timing

Service completion can depend on the work required, diagnosis, parts availability, additional findings, customer decisions and other transaction-specific circumstances.

Any estimated service timing should be treated as an estimate unless Woody's specifically confirms otherwise for the transaction.

This policy does not establish a universal same-day service, repair turnaround time or guaranteed completion period.

13

Service Completion

When applicable work is completed, customers should review relevant information concerning the service performed and ask questions about anything they do not understand.

Completion of a specific repair does not mean that unrelated components, existing conditions or future maintenance needs have been eliminated.

Customers remain responsible for appropriate operation, maintenance and monitoring of the golf cart after service.

14

Service, Parts & Warranty Considerations

Warranty coverage can differ depending on the product, component, manufacturer and transaction.

Customers should not assume that every repair, replacement part or service carries the same warranty period or coverage.

Manufacturer warranty, part warranty and any applicable dealer-provided service coverage should be distinguished from one another.

Review the Warranty Policy for additional information.

15

Existing Vehicle Condition

A golf cart submitted for service may already have cosmetic wear, mechanical issues, electrical concerns, modifications, damaged components or other existing conditions.

A service request concerning one issue does not mean Woody's has accepted responsibility for unrelated pre-existing conditions.

Customers should disclose known significant issues that may affect safe handling, diagnosis or service of the vehicle.

16

Personal Property & Accessories

Customers should remove unnecessary personal belongings from a golf cart before submitting it for service.

Customers should also identify unusual, valuable or service-relevant accessories when they may affect the work requested.

Items unrelated to the repair should not be left in the golf cart when they are not needed for diagnosis or service.

17

Payment for Service & Repairs

Payment requirements depend on the applicable service transaction and should be reviewed with the corresponding service information.

This policy does not establish a universal deposit, diagnostic charge, labor rate or payment schedule.

For general transaction information, review the Payment Policy .
